چکیده

The chemical and biological profiling of the methanolic extract floral part Costus lucanisianus have been carried out. was collected from Ogbia Local Government Area Bayelsa State. air dried, grinded extracted at room temperature in methanol. methanol mixture then concentrated under pressure. extract, MCL subjected to quantitative phytochemical screening, antioxidant antimicrobial profiling. result analysis showed presence phenols (14.853±0.350), tannins (6.638±0.051), alkaloids (3.72±0.02), flavonoids (59.444±0.000) saponins (2.93±0.06). activity increases as concentration increases. Biologically, has shown activities against following strains microbes: Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtillis, Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Salmonella typhi, Candida albican, Klebsiela pneumonia, Fusarium spp. with highest observed aureus. least for coli. present study established phytoconstitution, vitro activities.

detection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts

in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...

Antioxidant, antimutagenic, tanning and calpain induction activities of methanolic extract of Tunisian plant (Moricandia arvensis)

In this study, we investigate the potential of Moricandia arvensis methanol leaf extract (MeOHL) on calpain activity, melanin biosynthesis and DNA mutagenicity. Cytotoxic effect and measurement of reactive oxygen species (ROS) induced by lucigenin in colorectal cells (BE) were also determined. In addition the chemical analysis of the extract was also studied and the chemical profile illustrates...
